Features
  • Purpose
    • A System Engineer/Solutions Design role, retail customer focussed, where you'll be responsible for the delivery of the solution architecture to support epos/pos type products for a range of tier 1 and mid range customers. Involved in requirements gathering/running workshops with customers, you'll then be involved with the design and configuration of the infrastructure - windows, databases (DB2, SQL, Oracle etc), SAN & RAID configuration, linux, Tomcat/WebSphere, TCP/IP, NetBUI networking etc, and getting the solution ready for the team to install the kit. Although very much customer facing and solutions delivery orientated, this is still a hands on technical role. You'll also be working with product consultants and systems architects and work in close contact with the technical teams and client throughout the implementation of the infrastructure, identifying and developing improved processes to reduce build and implementation times and provide 3rd/4th line technical support. You could be coming out of a customer facing 3rd line technical support role, with strong windows and database experience, with linux, load balancing technology experience, Java and JPOS nice to have. Some travel to client site, but not for extended periods. This is a dynamic and fast paced working environment and the role would suit someone perhaps wanting to move into systems architecture in the future.

  • For contractors we can offer advice on umbrella companies and IR35 issues.
